S. Walks! – May 12, 2011

Today was a very uninteresting day. It was rainy-ish out so I only walked once today. I hate grey days, especially when there is that damp cold that seeps into your bones. Today was like that, so I stayed in bed. I actually ended up sleeping for a couple of hours, but I woke up with a headache and feeling really groggy so I just lazed around. Anyways, now it is almost 1 am and I can’t sleep so I thought I would quickly post some photos from a brighter day.

These are from my walk yesterday… Er, technically two days ago being  after midnight now… Without further ado here are the images… Enjoy! 😀

Just for you Caroline! 😀

  1. I love that one with the pink blossoms- gorgeous shot. Perhaps you should consider a photography course somewhere down the track? You post pictures regularly so I’m assuming it is something you enjoy. I really like the shot of the bright yellow flower as well – lovely.
It would be interesting to try and sum up a blog post or story with just photos. I just imagined myself walking where you walked and i wondered if it would be possible to detail a more complex story using only a few photos, while still carrying some meaning… kind of like a six word story (can’t remember whether you saw my post from a few days ago or not!) , but with photos.. might have to give that a try soon!
🙂 thanks for the inspiration x

    • Hey Ms. Jess,
I don’t know if professional photogrphy is in my future… I like doing it, but I don’t think I would like doing it on someone else’s terms… My boyfriends dad is a pro phog, so I could get some lessons from him. Actually, my bf has been shooting for his dad for about ten years, so I suppose I could even get some advice from there… Right now, it is just something to do. I can’t get really good because I have noticed I can’t get the shots I want due to not being able to bend that far, twist that way, or get there with my cane. I guess what I am trying to say is that if I take a class I will feel like I should take great pictures regularly, and then be dissapointed that I can’t. Right now, I am so pleasantly surprised when I capture something I love that I would hate to taint it by feeling I should be better at it. Does this make any sense at all?
If it is the bright pink blossoms you are referencing, they are “Bleeding Hearts” … I have always liked them, and their name makes them just a bit better. If it is the tree, it is the same tree that was in my last post, there are closeups of the blooms there. The yellow ones are daffodils, and I have had a soft spot for them since about 1992 when there was this touching commercial with a girl singing “That’s What Daffodils Do” for the Cdn Cancer Society.
Anyways, as I have already said in the other comment I think, I am so happy you have been inspired by the photos. You made my day!

  2. Lovely photos. Do you have Picassa – it’s a free download if not!

The last one would look even better without the car in!! Picassa has a crop tool!!

Do you want to give me some encouragement, criticism or comments? Please do!! What did you think of this post?
